In the hands of really fine actors, a play reading can be every bit as absorbing as a fully staged play.
“A Bench in the Sun,” as read by Ed Asner, Joe Ruskin, and Alice Hirson, is an absolutely perfect play: funny, poignant, and wise. A Bench in the Sun” was presented at Los Angeles Valley College. It was produced and directed by Alexandra More
“Alexandra helps keep my acting soul alive,” says Asner, best known as Lou Grant on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and a regular at More’s readings. “It’s always a good play, a good cast, a good audience and good food.”
“Miklat” is engrossing, thought-provoking, and very real, and the talented cast presents it flawlessly.
It was a particular delight, therefore, to see the always excellent Barbara Bain and her exceptionally talented daughter, Juliet Landau, under the auspices of producer/director Alexandra More’s Celebrity Staged Play Readings
